"Warehouse Ravaging Fire" VFX compositing in After Effects

I was tasked with composting this footage for a fire safety video, where the brief was to illustrate how an entire building could be covered in fire and smoke in just 15 seconds. The footage supplied by the DP was shot during the day and to make it more dramatic they wanted it to be night time instead.

Fire is a combination of 2D elements - fire, smoke layers, reflections and heat waves. Day to night was achieved with color grading and the addition of a night sky, clouds and moon, also 2D card elements.
