Rachel Teller - NFS Underground 2 Tribute
⠀
As a lifelong fan of Need for Speed Underground 2, I wanted to reimagine Rachel Teller in a modern, photorealistic style while keeping her iconic charm intact.
⠀
I began with a CC4 base mesh, sculpting her features in both CC4 and Blender to match real-life references of Brooke Burke, who originally portrayed Rachel. Her makeup was created using CC4’s stencil tools, with additional texture refinements in Photoshop to add more depth and realism.
⠀
The hair was groomed entirely from scratch in Blender—a time-intensive but rewarding process—and brought into Unreal Engine 5 for simulation. Her clothing uses UE5’s new Cloth Graph system for simulation, paired with a cloth asset. Setting up collisions for both the hair and clothing was a tricky but essential part of making her look believable in motion.
⠀
Everything, including the cloth and hair simulations, is managed within a unified "Main" blueprint in Unreal, making the setup efficient and easier to tweak. Wrinkle maps from CC4 add extra life to her expressions, and I also included jiggle physics to give her movements a natural, dynamic feel.
⠀
She’s currently presented in a UE5 lookdev level, but this is just the beginning! My ultimate goal is to feature Rachel in an NFS Underground 2-inspired cinematic project. I’m thrilled with how she’s turned out so far and excited to push this further in the next stages!
