"Poster replacement & shot extension" Compositing in Nuke and Fusion (Full ACES workflow)

For a short film project I was handed two shots which needed two poster replacements and a set extension in the form a vertical poster on top of the building entrance. This was a full ACES workflow to enable the editor to seamlessly interchange the shots with the VFX shots. I first converted the 8K RED log footage to ACEScg and then imported it into Nuke.

For shot 6 i.e. sh006 I did a 3D Camera Track and replaced the horizontal poster. After this was done I added the vertical poster on the building entrance. This was supposed to have glowing light bulbs around it so using the glow nodes I singled out only the bulbs and made sure their glow brightness matched the bulbs under the ceiling in pixel value for consistency. Next up was sh012 which I did struggle with a bit in Nuke due to the shear amount of motion blur from the slow shutter.

I ended up trying in Fusion too where I eventually got a pretty decent planar track in the middle of the timeline, then I just manually key framed the corner pins at the start and end where it was the most motion blur. I tried to match the grain and luma levels the best I could. After compositing was done I delivered an sRGB converted daily to the director for previewing and converted the shots back to REDLog3G10 (in which it was shot) in for the editor.
